Set in London, Bill Cain’s EQUIVOCATION is an historical mystery surrounding Shakespeare…his acting troupe…and the infamous Gunpowder Plot of 1605. The cast includes Shakespeare’s key players, who in addition to themselves will also portray many other fictional and historical characters of the time, including King James I, Guy Fawkes, and Lady Macbeth.
ROLES:
At these auditions, we are seeking 4 flexible male actors to play:
RICHARD (35-45)…a character based on Richard Burbage, one of the “leading men” of the time
SHARPE (20-30)…a talented, athletic and ambitious younger actor
NATE (25-45)…a versatile actor/singer/writer
ARMIN (30-50)…the company clown, based loosely on Will Kemp
We will also be casting several men (or women) in supporting roles as guards, servants, soldiers, executioners, etc.
Questions should be sent to the director via email to stagefog@gmail.com.
