Michal Shein: El Sistema teaching and cross-cultural projects

Michal Shein is an Israeli-Mexican-American cellist, and is an active performer, community organizer, and master educator. She is the founder and artistic director of Cellisimo, which is a virtual 2-week Spanish-speaking festival for advanced Latin American cellists, after realizing there was a lack of festival environments for this specific demographic. As an educator, she has taught at NEC prep, CLCS, BYSO, and BSA. She deeply understands the El Sistema Foundation and is extremely community oriented in her work. She sees students’ success as students feeling empowered in their own learning path.
