“Foraging for Food and Connection with Our Local Plants” with Herbalist Iris Weaver

Foraging is an ancient tradition that provides an intimate connection with the foods we eat. In this short walk and accompanying talk, herbalist Iris Weaver will introduce some of the edible plants growing wild around Rocky Neck. Along the way, participants will learn ways to appreciate and engage with the plants. Discussion will include resources, safety, deeper nutrition, ways to preserve and enjoy the plants, as well as harvesting tips..

Bring a notebook and camera/phone. Handouts and a couple of recipes are included.
