GMGI Art & Science Lecture: Real Big Fish
GMGI Art & Science Lecture: Real Big Fish
Join Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute research scientist Tim O’Donnell and artist Paul Cary Goldberg to hear real-life fish and fisheries stories.
Tim will speak about his work to preserve the cultural and commercial value of fish using cutting-edge science, and how GMGI is pioneering the use of Environmental DNA (eDNA) in fisheries management.
Paul will tell his own stories of fish, the iconic Gloucester community, and his epic collaboration with the late Jon Sarkin. Learn about the artists’ process and take a closer look at Mackerel, Paul and Jon’s large-scale work.
Arrive between 4:30pm and 5pm for a fish print demo with Rocky Neck’s own Joe’s Fish Prints!
The talk will begin promptly at 5:30p.
