The Bread and Roses Heritage Committee, Inc. is an all-volunteer group which organizes the annual Bread and Roses Labor Day Heritage Festival  in Lawrence. Our mission is to celebrate Lawrence's unique heritage of ethnic diversity and labor history, by honoring the memory of the "Bread and Roses" Strike of 1912. Our event is a free, family-oriented multicultural festival of music, dance, drama, ethnic foods, historical demonstrations and reenactments, walking and trolley tours. We try to make the connection between the experience of our immigrant ancestors of 1912 and Lawrence's newest residents.
