Our Mission: Elevated Thought is an art and social justice 501(c)(3) organization based in Lawrence, MA. We develop spaces for BIPOC youth and communities to engage and understand art’s liberating power.

What We Do: Through creative youth development, public art projects, youth organizing, and paid opportunities for BIPOC creatives, ET actively addresses forms of systemic injustice.

Officially founded in 2010, Elevated Thought ® was born in 2008; an idea that stemmed from a poem and a mural addressing social issues and demanding solutions. The mission quickly followed. Running our first art and social justice based workshop in 2010, our first official mural in 2011, and our first scholarship award in 2012, we have continued to strengthen our mission each year since; serving, inspiring, and building through art.
Elevated Thought believes that all young people should and could have access to wide-ranging, creative and alternative learning opportunities. We are designed to affirm cultural and community identity and build capacity for creative practices that enable youth to produce the stories and vision that lead to individual and community change.
