My name is Sarah Blacker, a Board-Certified, creative Music Therapist, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, and I have been providing co-active group and individual Music Therapy sessions and trainings (for Berklee College (my alma mater) of Music & Lesley University Music Therapy students) for over 9 years in Massachusetts and NY, for individuals of all ages and developmental levels.

I am currently facilitating weekly group Music Therapy sessions at an acute adult inpatient psych facility, an adolescent court-ordered after school program, a homeless shelter, and a geriatric outpatient day program. I have worked in Children's inpatient hospitals, camps, homes, schools, at internationally renowned hospitals such as Mass General, Beth Israel, and McLean Hospitals, and more. I ran a private practice for several years in Dedham, MA and regularly start programs where the need is present.

Along with my Music Therapy work, I have co-produced and released 4 albums of original music since 2009. My most recent album, 'In Waves,' is distributed nationally by Universal Music Group, and my music has been honored in many esteemed publications such as American Songwriter, Huffington Post, and DayTrotter to name just a few.

I was named 'Female Performer of the Year' in the New England Music Awards, and nominated as singer/songwriter of the year in the Boston Music Awards, in 2013, and 2014 respectively to name just two honors I've been lucky enough to receive. I tour internationally both solo and with my band, have self-booked many east coast and national tours, and am currently signed with a national booking agent. My music is played on over 150 radio stations nationwide, and locally, WUMB, Radio 92.9, WATD, and 88.9 WERS have all been tremendous supports for me. In 2011, I toured Germany having been invited by festival producers, to completely sold-out crowds.

I have shared the stage with Paula Cole, Don McLean, America, The Wood Brothers, Leon Russell, Livingston Taylor, and Richard Thompson, to name just a few, and have toured extensively with Carbon Leaf, and Mishka.

I am a passionate, hard-working, unique, business-savvy musician and therapist, devoted to my motto, "songs save lives." They truly saved mine, and I speak regularly and authentically at shows and via social media, about my experiences growing up as the victim of bullying, abuse, trauma, struggles with an eating disorder and low self-esteem, and other life-experiences that have led me to be the strong person that I am today, and to have found my happiness through healthy living, creativity and connection.
