IPSWICH, MA – 9 December 2024– The Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras presents An Afternoon of
Winter Concerts on Sunday, December 15, at the Dolan Performing Arts Center, 130 High Street, in Ipswich, MA.
The 2:00 pm concert features the NMYO Prelude String Ensemble, Overture String Ensemble, and Intermezzo.
Orchestra. The 4:00 pm concert features NMYO’s advanced ensembles: Wind Ensemble, Select Flute Choir, and
Symphony Orchestra. The concerts will include both classical and modern music, including selections from The
Nutcracker as well as works by Copland, Bizet, and more.
Young Musicians Shine in NMYO’s Winter Concert Series at Ipswich
Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras (NMYO) invites music lovers to experience the extraordinary talent of young musicians at their upcoming Winter Concerts. This captivating afternoon of performances will showcase both developing and advanced ensembles, bringing classical masterpieces and contemporary compositions to life.
Two Spectacular Performances, One Memorable Afternoon
The Winter Concerts will take place on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the prestigious Dolan Performing Arts Center in Ipswich. The afternoon features two distinct performances:
2:00 PM Performance
- Prelude String Ensemble
- Overture String Ensemble
- Intermezzo Orchestra
4:00 PM Performance
- Wind Ensemble
- Select Flute Choir
- Symphony Orchestra
Under the guidance of Music Director Michael Coelho, these talented young musicians will perform an eclectic repertoire including beloved selections from The Nutcracker alongside works by renowned composers Copland and Bizet.
